Icon of Asian beauty

[YONHAP] Actress Shin Min-a was named Beauty Icon of the Year at the 2011 Cosmo Beauty Awards on Nov. 30 at the Westin Chosun hotel in central Seoul. In conjunction with the title, Shin appeared on the cover of a special edition of Cosmopolitan Korea dedicated to the awards. Shin, a “lady with impeccable beauty,” displayed a uniquely Asian charisma at the photo shoot, Cosmopolitan Korea said. The magazine also said that Shin has won high praise from world-renowned makeup artist Damien Dufresne as the “Asian Kate Moss.” The Cosmo Beauty Awards, which originated in Germany as the Prix de Beaute in 1992, are recognized worldwide. This year’s ceremony was the first held in Korea, with figures from around Asia gathering in Seoul. “It is an honor to be named Beauty Icon of the Year at the first ceremony hosted by Cosmopolitan Korea,” Shin said. “I will work to represent Korea’s beauty.”
